Travel
  1. By car: excellent connections are provided by the A4 and A18 motorways. Kliczków is located only about 100 kilometers from Wroclaw, the capital of the Lower Silesia region, 50 kilometres from the Polish-German border, and less than 100 kilometers from the Polish-Czech border.
  1. By aircraft: participants are advised to fly to Wrocław Airport  which has many direct international connections, and also domestic flight connections from Warsaw.After arriving at the airport on September 11th, attendees will meet at the University of Wroclaw (15 km from the Wrocław Airport). After assembling, enjoying refreshments etc., we will take coaches from the University to the venue in Kliczkow Castle (cost about 20 €, relevant box in the Registration Form must be marked).For those flying to Wroclaw, transport from the airport to the University will be arranged if you choose this option in your Registration Form. This transfer from the airport to Plac Uniwersytecki (University Square) by taxi Serc costs about 20 €. If you don’t  choose that option it is also possible to take a regular taxi or a city bus. You can get the city bus no. 106 from the airport to Wrocław Main Railway Station (Wrocław Główny). A bus ticket costs about 4.60 zł – 1 €.

    From the Main Railway Station, the University can be reached by bus – line K (bus stop Świdnicka or Rynek), tram – line 8 (stop Hala Targowa). A 15 min. ticket for city bus/tram costs 3,20 zł – 0,7 €. You can also walk to the University on foot (approx. 1.8 km) or get a regular taxi to the University Square (about 10 €).

    At the University it will be possible to safely leave your luggage until 4 p.m. In your free time, you can visit the old city of Wroclaw. Bus departures from the University of Wrocław to Kliczków are expected at 4 p.m., and arrival is expected around 6 p.m.

  1. By train or bus: Participants who arrive in Wrocław by train  can take the same coaches from the University of Wrocław to the venue in Kliczkow Castle with the rest of the group who have arrived by plane (cost about 20 €, relevant box in the Registration Form must be marked).

    It is also possible to travel by train or by bus directly to Bolesławiec Railway Station from where the organizers will provide transport by mini-bus to the Kliczków Castle (relevant box in the Registration Form must be marked). The mini-bus will make several trips depending on the time of train arrival. Departure of the mini-bus will be on demand.

    After the conference, transfer by coaches from Kliczków to Wrocław Airport will be provided on September 15th and 16th (cost about 20 €, relevant box in the Registration Form must be marked); the time of return by coach will be decided after registration is complete and the time of attendees’ return flights are know.

Visas

For citizens of most countries a valid passport (ID card for citizens of the EU countries) is sufficient to enter Poland. Unfortunately citizens of some countries need a visa. All participants are advised to check visa requirements on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland’s  or contact their nearest Polish Embassy, diplomatic mission, or travel agency. No visas are issued on arrival.

The Organizing Committee of the MECC’20/22 will issue invitation letters on request for visa applicants. Please apply in due time for a visa if necessary. The organizers will be happy to send a letter of invitation to any individual requesting one, once their registration and fees have been received. These invitations are intended to help potential participants obtain a visa. Please note that such invitations are not a commitment on the part of the conference to provide any financial support. Those who need a personal invitation to attend the conference should mark the relevant box in the Registration Form.

Currency

The official currency in Poland is the zloty. You can get an idea about exchange rates on the National Bank of Poland  (the current rate is: 1 € ~ 4.65 zł). 

Credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express etc.) are accepted by almost all hotels and shops.
